Siliguri, 14th August: Security at NJP railway station has been significantly intensified as part of preparations for the 78th Independence Day on 15th August. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have launched a special inspection campaign to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent any potential incidents.
Sniffer dogs have been deployed to thoroughly inspect all trains departing from NJP, including major services such as the Darjeeling Mail and Rajdhani Express. Passengers’ bags and luggage are also being subjected to rigorous checks.
NJP railway station, one of the busiest in North Eastern India, handles thousands of travelers daily. With the high passenger volume, these enhanced security measures aim to ensure public safety during the Independence Day celebrations.
