Massive Landslide Blocks NH10 at 29th Mile, Traffic Diverted

01st August : A massive landslide struck NH10 at the 29th Mile, blocking the road from both directions. This incident has forced the diversion of vehicles through the Mungpoo route. The landslide occurred unexpectedly, disrupting the usual flow of traffic and causing significant delays.

Restoration efforts are underway with full intensity, as workers and JCB machines are actively engaged in clearing the debris and reopening the route. This critical stretch of highway connects several key regions of Sikkim and Kalimpong, making its prompt restoration a priority. Local authorities have assured the public that all resources are being utilized to expedite the clearance process.

Alternative routes for small vehicles are also outlined. Light vehicles can travel from Rangpoo to Siliguri via Munsong-17th Mile-Algarah-Lava-Gorubathan, and from Kalimpong to Siliguri via Relli-Samthar-Panbu.
