Gorubathan Police Arrest Man with 100gms of Brown Sugar During Raid

Gorubathan, 11th August: On acting on a tip-off, the Gorubathan Police conducted a raid at the Pandara Naka Checking Point. The operation led to the arrest of Md. Sakil Ahmed, a 23-year-old resident of Raj Basti, Islampur, Uttar Dinajpur.

Ahmed, the son of Md. Jahangir was found in possession of approximately 100 grams of brown sugar. The substance was intended for illegal distribution and trading, according to the police.

The arrest was made as part of a targeted operation against narcotics. A case has been registered under Gorubathan Police Station Case No: 20/24 dated 11/08/24, citing sections 22(b) and 29 of the NDPS Act. The Kalimpong Police are continuing their investigation into the matter
