04th August: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted significant rainfall across West Bengal due to intensified monsoon rains, exacerbated by a cyclone and a low-pressure system. On Monday, residents can expect slight relief, but heavy to very heavy rains are anticipated for Tuesday and Wednesday in both southern and northern Bengal.

Specific districts in northern Bengal, including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar, are on high alert, with predictions of up to 20 cm of rain on Sunday, followed by increased intensity on Tuesday. North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur, and Malda may experience rain with thunder on Sunday. Southern Bengal will see overall rainfall decrease on Sunday, although some districts could still face heavy rain. The IMD has warned that the northern districts will likely continue experiencing scattered heavy rains over the next seven days, urging residents to remain cautious and prepared.
