Siliguri, 27th July: A motorcyclist tragically lost his life after being hit by a truck on National Highway 31 (NH31) in Bidhan Nagar.
The incident occurred as the motorcyclist was traveling from Bidhan Nagar towards Muraliganj. A truck traveling in the same direction rear-ended the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control and fall onto the road. The biker was then run over by the truck, resulting in his immediate death.
The truck driver fled the scene upon being alerted of the police stationed at the Muraliganj Checkpost. Officers from the Bidhannagar Investigation Centre promptly arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Both vehicles involved in the accident have been taken into custody, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
