Siliguri, 17th August: The Outpatient Department (OPD) and other critical medical services at Siliguri District Hospital have been halted due to a 24-hour strike called by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). This strike, a response to the recent incident at R.G. Kar Hospital, has led to the suspension of outdoor services across multiple hospitals in the region.
Patients from Siliguri and surrounding areas, including those who rely on the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), are facing considerable difficulties. Many individuals who travel long distances seeking medical attention are left without essential services.
The strike has caused confusion and frustration among patients and their families, who are now scrambling to find alternative care. The disruption of OPD services at Siliguri District Hospital has sparked widespread concern, with many expressing anger over the impact on vital healthcare services.
