Alipurduar, 09th August: A 65-year-old man, Abdul Jalil Mia, was arrested in connection with the attempted sexual assault of an eleven-year-old girl in the Khoardanga area under Kumargram Police Station. The incident came to light when the minor disclosed the details to her family, leading to a formal complaint being lodged at Kamakhyaguri Police Station.
The police promptly responded to the report, arresting Mia on Thursday night. He was brought before the Alipurduar District Court on Friday. Law enforcement authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing to gather further evidence and details surrounding the case. The incident has sparked concern in the community, highlighting the need for vigilance and prompt action in safeguarding minors.
