Siliguri, 28th July: A series of audacious burglaries on Netaji Road has left the residents of Subhashpally in Ward No. 20 of SMC deeply troubled. The unsettling events began on Friday night when thieves broke into an empty house, making off with electrical wires, cooking utensils, a television, and other valuables.
Just 24 hours later, the crime wave continued as another burglary was reported at a nearby grocery store. On Sunday morning, the store owner discovered that items worth approximately Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 had been stolen.
The local ward councilor and police authorities promptly arrived at the scene to address the situation. Police officials have assured the community that a rigorous investigation is underway, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend the culprits swiftly.
