Jorethang, 02nd August: In a tragic turn of events, a 37-year-old man in Sikkim’s Jorethang has been arrested for murdering his wife over a domestic argument. On August 2, Bhim Kumar Rai allegedly killed his wife, Smrita Rai (33), with a sharp weapon following a heated dispute at their rented accommodation around 1 a.m.
After the incident, Rai surrendered at the Jorethang police station. The police are currently investigating the case for further details.
The couple’s two young children have been placed in the care of other family members. The community awaits more information as the investigation continues.
