Siliguri, 18th August: The body of a 40-year-old man, Jilap Sherpa, was discovered hanging in a lodge at Siliguri Junction under Pradhan Nagar police station. Jilap, a resident of Jaldhaka in Kalimpong district, had been staying at the lodge since August 16. On Sunday afternoon, lodge management found his body and immediately notified the police.
Upon arrival, police officers recovered the body and sent it to Siliguri District Hospital. The family of the deceased arrived shortly after being informed of the incident. According to reports, Jilap had sent a message to his family, expressing his desire to end his life. The body is scheduled for an autopsy at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital on Monday. Pradhan Nagar police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
