Siliguri, 16th August: In a disturbing incident, four individuals, including three minors, have been arrested in Siliguri on charges of gang-raping a minor girl. The incident allegedly occurred on Thursday when a young man, who had recently befriended the girl, lured her to meet him. She was reportedly taken to an isolated area in Kawakhali, where the crime took place.
A written complaint was promptly filed at the NJP police station, leading to the swift arrest of all four suspects later that night. Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar confirmed the arrests and announced that a thorough investigation is underway.
The case has sparked outrage in the community, with Siliguri BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh strongly condemning the incident. Authorities are working to ensure justice is served in this case, which has shaken the town of Siliguri.
