Nim Tshering Lepcha, a victim and Local Representative of Naga Village has urged the Indian government for immediate intervention. “Relocation of the affected people is necessary at the moment as well as the restoration of the border road,” Lepcha stated. “It has been 11 months since the glacial lake outburst flood in 2023, and there’s no improvement. The Government of India should also takeĀ  this matter seriously as this is a border road.”

Lepcha emphasized the urgency of the situation, highlighting that it is not only a public concern but also a threat to national security. The community is appealing for swift government action to address the ongoing crisis.
