Kharibari, 22nd October: A wave of protests erupted in Kharibari as residents gathered to demand accountability for the poor construction quality of a local Anganwadi center in Keshordoba. The center, funded by the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) with a budget of ₹11,13,000, has raised concerns over the use of substandard materials, resulting in cracks in the ceiling and crumbling walls.
The protestors voiced their frustration at the contracting firm responsible for the project, calling for immediate corrective measures. Residents insist that the quality of construction be improved to ensure the safety of children and community members.
Responding to the complaints, Kharibari Block Development Officer (BDO) Dipti Saha assured over the phone that an engineer would be dispatched to assess the situation. She also emphasized that if the allegations are proven, appropriate action will be taken against the firm responsible for the construction.
