Fulbari, 19th August: A coal-laden trailer overturned on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway early Monday morning, causing significant disruption. The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. near Jotiakali More in Fulbari. The trailer, which was transporting coal from Rajasthan to Bhutan, lost control and tipped over while navigating a narrow section of the highway.
Drivers in the area reported that frequent accidents occur due to the road’s poor maintenance and narrow lanes. Despite the severity of the incident, no injuries or casualties were reported.
Fulbari Highway Traffic Police responded promptly, recovering the overturned trailer and clearing the highway. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident, with authorities focusing on the road conditions and vehicle load as potential factors. Traffic flow has since been restored.
