Naxalbari, 10th August: In a significant law enforcement action, Tapas Pal, a resident of Rathkhola, was arrested for drug possession in Naxalbari. Acting on a tip-off, the 41st battalion of the Madan Jote SSB raided the area, leading to the seizure of 94 grams of brown sugar from Pal’s possession.
Following the arrest, Pal was handed over to Naxalbari police for further investigation. He has since been presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. The Naxalbari police station continues to probe the case, aiming to uncover potential links to a broader drug smuggling operation.
