Rajganj, 05th August: A goods-laden vehicle overturned on the Karatoya bridge near Hati More on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway due to a burst tyre. The incident took place on Sunday night, causing a significant disruption in traffic.
The small goods carrier was en route to Jalpaiguri when the tyre burst, leading to the vehicle abruptly overturning in the middle of the bridge. Local residents, alerted by the noise, rushed to the scene to assist. The driver sustained significant injuries and was immediately transported to Rajganj Rural Hospital for treatment.
Rajganj police promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the report. The overturned vehicle caused a temporary traffic blockage on the highway. Authorities have since recovered the vehicle, which has been taken into police custody for further investigation
